I have worked with the Rockpools team as a non executive for six years, combining the role with a varied mix of other non-executive positions in the private and charitable sectors. I joined Rockpools because I share the team’s strong values and commitment and like the distinctive way the whole team works with candidates and clients.
In addition to my strategic and scrutiny role as a board member, I provide oversight of our senior public service appointments. I am passionate about public service that serves the public not its providers, about results in real time rather than process for the sake of process, and about choosing, using and developing the right people at the right time to do the right job.
I am a former Whitehall Director General who now works as a non-Executive Director in the private and not for profit sectors. In my civil service career I had a particular focus on managing Government relationships with a number of significant public bodies and agencies, including their set-up and staffing. My current non-executive portfolio includes positions with Wates Group Ltd, Genesis Housing Association, Cognatum Trust, Salisbury Cathedral Chapter, Dulwich Picture Gallery, Horniman Museum, Wessex Archaeology and the Edward Heath Charitable Foundation. I am also an associate with Critical Eye.
