Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Organisation: Uraga Power Solutions Ltd
Uraga Power Solutions Ltd (part of the Honeywell Group in Nigeria) is recruiting a Chief Executive. The Honeywell Group came into existence in the year 1972. Chaired by Dr. Oba Otudeko, OFR, the Group has since grown to become one of Nigeria’s leading indigenous conglomerates. Today, the Honeywell Group has evolved into a diversified enterprise with businesses across major sectors of the Nigeria economy, namely: foods & agro-allied; real estate, infrastructure, energy and services. Through additional portfolio investments, the Group is also a significant provider of capital to other sectors of Nigeria’s economy including financial services, telecommunications and security management.
Honeywell’s Power Business focuses more on the captive power space even though the business had participated in the bid process for two of Nigeria’s unbundled power distribution businesses. Uraga Power Solutions Limited (UPSL) became a fully-fledged operating unit of the Group about a year ago and recently took over the power assets of one of the Group’s companies – Honeywell Flourmills Plc (HFMP) - and is developing a captive power plant for HFMP’s new plant at Shagamu.
Reporting to the Chairman and the Group Executive Director, the company needs a Chief Executive who can drive growth through attracting new customers to whom the business can provide power solutions. The individual will have extensive experience of managing the P&L of a power asset, and will have done so in Nigeria or in another emerging market. Likely to have an engineering background, the post holder will be a strong business and people leader with well-developed external communications skills.
The position is based full-time in Lagos, Nigeria with a clear expectation that you will travel extensively throughout Nigeria, and possibly to other geographies as the business expands. For more information or for a confidential discussion, please contact:
