Creating a safer future by managing radioactive waste effectively, to protect people and the environment.
Circa £35K plus benefits
Radioactive Waste Management Limited (RWM) is the Government-owned company established to deliver a geological disposal facility (GDF) and provide solutions for the management of radioactive waste. The GDF represents a major multi-million pound national infrastructure programme. RWM, as the developer, will work in partnership with communities that are willing to participate in the siting process.
To achieve the necessary permits, we need to demonstrate the safety of the transport of radioactive waste for disposal. Reporting to the Transport Safety Manager, you will provide transport and operational safety input to disposability assessments.
With a background in the assessment of transporting radioactive materials and knowledge of the transport of other dangerous goods, you will be part of the Engineering and Safety team, with responsibility for assessing waste disposal proposals for the safe transportation to and disposal of waste in a GDF. Integrating inputs from a broad spectrum of disciplines, you will work with nuclear industry specialists and have a good, up to date, working knowledge of transport safety regulations and guidance material.
Closing date for applications is Tuesday 26th June 2018
