We
are looking for an experienced, cultural events venue General Manager/Programmer
to set up and run the finest new events’ space in Coventry at the Grade II*
listed Drapers’ Hall.
Historic
Coventry Trust is an ambitious and entrepreneurial charity with a mission to
act as the champion of all heritage at risk in Coventry and to become its
permanent guardian. We are a pioneering
‘heritage development trust’ on a journey to create a self-sufficient charity
using revenue generated from property income to sustain a portfolio of 22
heritage assets which are being transferred to our care from Coventry City
Council. You have the opportunity to
join us at a formative stage – helping to create the projects, activities, teams and culture that will ensure we
succeed in restoring and reusing Coventry’s heritage for the future.
As
our repair and restoration works at the Regency Drapers’ Hall are drawing to a
close we are recruiting for a creative, energetic and experienced manager of
cultural venues to prepare and open Drapers’ Hall to the public for City of
Culture year, and to ensure that there is a compelling programme of music and
events which brings life back to the building. Initially for a 6-month set up
period, this role is intended to be long-term subject to funding.
If
you have experience in setting up and running music and cultural venues, creating
and delivering compelling and financially sustainable cultural programmes and managing
teams of staff and volunteers, then this is an opportunity for you.
