We need an experienced and entrepreneurial Director to lead Historic Coventry Trust through its next stage of development.

Historic Coventry Trust is an ambitious and entrepreneurial heritage development trust with a mission to act as the champion of all heritage at risk in Coventry and to become its permanent guardian.  Our vision is to find innovative ways to sustain historic places and to inspire, involve and connect people with the city’s heritage.

We are on a journey to create a self-sufficient charity using revenue generated from property income to sustain a portfolio of 22 heritage assets which are being transferred to our care from Coventry City Council. You have the opportunity to shape the next stage of our development as we operate an estate of buildings in the city, open Charterhouse as a new visitor attraction, and move onto the next phase of project development and delivery.

In the last three years we have completed restoration and transfer of 19 buildings to the Trust, opening a new music venue and 6 holiday cottages to the public, as well as running a growing creative programme of activities, events and volunteering. We are now looking for a new full-time Director with a track record of creating sustainable cultural businesses.

If you have experience in successful management of heritage/cultural venues, charity leadership, fundraising, managing and motivating staff, excellent project and financial management skills and the ability to inspire others by engaging them in stories of Coventry’s past then this is an opportunity for you.
